A Good Name

“A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.“ … Proverbs 22:1

Looking at what is making the rounds on social media, it is obvious that the current generation has not heed the advice of Proverbs 22 verse 1.

People are not concerned about the rightness of what they do so far they are making money. It seems to me that money alone is the driving force of tis generation. Mammon has taken over the day even for Christians. The saying…”the end justifies the means” is not always the best way to go. When one is scolded for doing something morally bad, the next thing that comes up into the discus is if the said act brings money, if yes then its looks very okay.

It seem to me portrait has been painted which says life cannot be lived without money. Once again the scripture says “… for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.” … Luke 12:15

My counsel is - don’t be distracted or enticed by the seemingly “riches” being made, most of which have a question mark around them. If you must get rich, then do it the right way.

Proverbs 22 verse 1 is telling us that when faced between having a good name and having great riches (an either or situation)…choose a good name because it is better.
