I stumbled on a WhatsApp status saying our happiness shouldn’t be be attached to someone and that we can live a happy life independent of others.

While it seems to make sense that we shouldn’t depend on others to be happy… looking at life more holistically, our happiness is always tied to others. We live in an inter-dependent world.

Imagine the current war happening in Ukraine; a situation that came to be because some persons felt the best way to resolve an issue was to declare war. I don’t believe anybody in that country is happy with what is going on. Someone’s action or inaction could be a source of happiness or pain.

What is much more deeper than happiness is “Joy”.. which is a sign of the presence of God. Psalm 16:11.

It is joy and not happiness that we can have independent of people…..as for happiness it will always be dependent on the world we live in. Adios
